What?

Gastro is defined as Stomach and or Eating. In our situation it should please both your stomach and your joy of eating.

Omertà is a popular attitude and code of honor and a common definition is the "code of silence, Omertà implies “the categorical prohibition of cooperation with state authorities or reliance on its services. Omertà is an extreme form of loyalty and solidarity in the face of authority.

Why?

We are friends feeding friends. We love food and want to share our love with you. Yet we don't want to be taxed, regulated, and told what we have to do. We bring a new light with our unfiltered rules. We bring the food experience; unwavering passion and soul. We don't care what you want. Your here to experience our food. You don't go to Italy and tell the cook of the household that you could really go for a hamburger right now. You let them feed you with culture and the trustworthy knowledge they have of their craft. You shouldn't ever tell an artist to use a little less red in their painting, or "could you make one a little bigger for me". The service is in the giving and the sharing, not in the bending over backwards or the feeling of distrust when asked to specialize everything for everyone. We are here exchanging each others time for one another and we need to trust each other. We are not here for your money, we have jobs that pay the bills. We are here for your future support and the joy of camaraderie. We are here to flex our culinary boners in your face. Excuse our blatancy! But everything we are about to share with you will be blatant and in your face including our love of food, our love of you, our love of shared thoughts and feelings. We are bringing back the culture of dining for more than just consuming food and then shitting it out, but rather to enjoy, and savour every minute of what we have in front of us. Please join us for the exuberance that is gastrOmerta.

“We know, for instance, that there is a direct, inverse relationship between frequency of family meals and social problems. Bluntly stated, members of families who eat together regularly are statistically less likely to stick up liquor stores, blow up meth labs, give birth to crack babies, commit suicide, or make donkey porn. If Little Timmy had just had more meatloaf, he might not have grown up to fill chest freezers with Cub Scout parts.”
